Memories, AU, and a June Special!

Since we've been on a mission to catch up this blog, I can think of no better way to end our little trip through the past than with one of my favorite families!  You might remember these smiling faces from old posts of yore, like this family session from 2010, this precious newborn shoot in summer 2011, or this family session from last fall.  Go ahead, check them out--we'll wait.  ;)

How incredible is it to watch kids grow up before your eyes in pictures like that? Just one of the perks of my job! It really is such a fun and humbling thing to capture those memories for my families. And now for our most recent session from just a week and a half ago. I have to be honest and admit that I almost didn't recognize baby toddler Isaiah! If it weren't for those killer eyes and the fact that his parents were carrying him, I wouldn't have guessed he was the same boy! Big sister Morgan is growing like crazy, too, of course. She's also figured out how to work the camera by coming up with her own spots and poses, which are always the most fun and turn out the best!  And props to mom and dad for coming up with the location--isn't it gorgeous? I'm proud to say that it's none other than my Alma Mater, Anderson University! I will definitely be heading back there in the future. Enjoy the photos, and be sure to look at the end of this post for a June Special!

To celebrate our last trip on our little Back to the Future journey, Lantern Tree is offering a special to anyone who books a session in June! Are you ready for this?!? Scheduling a session will entitle you to a never-before-offered slide show DVD of every. single. image. from your proofing site! You read that right.  Session slots are limited, so book soon!

Gigawatts and Girly Things

Well, we're nearly three decades beyond 1985, and I don't believe words like "plutonium" and "gigawatts" are part of our everyday vocabulary. I'm not sure what we all thought 2012 would look like back in the 80's, but I am certain that the photography world has come a LONG way. Can you say disposable flashes, anyone? How much fun did we all have taking pictures as kids and then waiting a week for our film to get developed, only to find that our younger sister had taken a bunch of pictures of the floor? I know it wasn't just me. ;)

With that walk down memory lane, I'd like to introduce you to my friend, Mallory.  Mallory and her mom, Cherie met me at the Indianapolis Art Center for a mini-session last November. We had a great time laughing and trying to get as much pink into those 30 minutes as possible!  Mallory did a fabulous job and definitely loved showing off all her fun accessories! She had me wishing for a grown-up version of that frilly pink purse, that's for sure. Enjoy!

Do Not Open Until 1985

If you've been keeping up this past week, you'll know we're reviving this long-neglected blog by traveling back through time, Marty McFly style! So put on your old "Johnny B. Goode" record and head back with me to the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance November 2011! Take a look at this mini-session with the lovely Doan family. In just about 30 short minutes, we rocked out our mini-session with lots of beautiful fall colors, smiles, and gorgeous settings from Coxhall Gardens in Carmel. And if all went well at the dance, we shouldn't have to worry about any family members starting to fade out of these photos! Enjoy.

Baby Grace Part II

I will spare you all from the Back to the Future quotes this time around, but only because I am so excited to get to the photos!  And there are a lot of them. Remember Baby Grace's newborn pictures from this post in September? That little model-in-the-making is back for her second blog appearance, baptism-style. I had the honor of capturing the big event in February with her family. And when I say family, I mean WHOLE family--parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins--everyone was there. She may have had the largest fan club at the baptism, and I think she was okay with all that attention! She was all smiles the entire time! Enjoy.

Save the Clock Tower!!

Who's ready for some more time traveling? Today we're gonna throw on our purple Calvin Klein underwear and visit our parents as teenagers head back to visit baby Claire and big brother, Rylan! Claire came to Lantern Tree for her three-month pictures before Christmas, and then returned again for her six-month session in March! It was easy to see that big brother Rylan absolutely adores his sister--seriously, how could you not love those HUGE, squishable cheeks! Go ahead, find me a more squishable pair, I dare you. Can't be done. In the meantime, let's turn the dial back on the Delorean and head all the way back to 2011!

And now the six-month photos!
